100 Hours - yeah!

Just had to celebrate the news that the House voted to raise minimum wage to $7.25/hour. If the increase makes it through, it will be the first increase since 1997! (For perspective and reference, that was back when I was still making minimum wage and was all kinds of pumped for $5.15/hour!) I don't know what will come of this new Congress, but I tell you this: I am still optimistic. And this is a step in the right direction.

(My happy, political self is choosing to ignore Bush's call for a troop "surge" at the moment. I'm entitled to a few hours of pride in my government, right? ::sigh::)
