SO not a cold

My friend Wendy was right - I do not have a cold (apparently she took some medical courses when getting her linguistics degree...or perhaps she was just better at accepting reality than me this time around). I have a stomach virus, I think. Or the stomach flu...is there a difference? (Clearly having multiple friends who are doctors has not worn off on me.)

I made it through 3 hours of work today. By the end of hour two (and my second seventh grade class), I was quite tired. By the middle of hour three, I was miserable. I lied, told my AP I'd been throwing up and she agreed to get me a sub. Then I did throw up, just barely making it to the bathroom in time. I have been home since 11:30am (again, thank G-d I live so close to work) and have slept for most of that time. I have woken up only to throw up and go back to sleep (nice, huh?). I did force myself to CVS for crackers, applesauce and Gatorade, only to have to drop the basket in the aisle and run outside to throw up in the garbage can. Proof that even big cities have heart? Several people stopped to make sure I was okay. Anyway, that's the update. I hope it runs its course tonight and I can go back to work, but we'll see.

Hope your Monday is going much better.

1. people need to start accepting the fact that i am always right - except when it comes to my own relationship sh--, in which case i suck.

2. linguistics was my minor :p

3. i hear there is no such thing as the stomach flu? but i'm not completely sure, they neglected to cover that in my syntax class.

4. self-fulfilling prophecies are dangerous.

5. i had to laugh out loud at your cvs story. sorry sweetie, it was funny =D

6. i'm sure at least one of those concerned folks wondered if you were pregnant.

7. maybe it can run its course tonight but you can still stay home tomorrow?

i love you, feel better!!!

You are the best. I woke up feeling much better, but, just in case, I called in sick anyway. It's nice to not have to jump right back into work. And yes, the CVS story was funny, that's why I shared. And I'm sure that pregnancy was on more than one person's mind.

Are you kidding me? This is exactly how my illness progressed-- except all my vomiting happened at home, thank goodness. I will tell you that after a miserable night last night I am feeling 85% better today, so hopefully the worst is almost over for you as well. What I need to know is if you went back in and bought what you needed at the CVS.

Oh yes, after I convinced the last woman I was not in need of medical care and wiped my face, I went right back in, got my basket from the Christmas candy aisle and purchased my goods: aspirin; crackers; ginger ale; applesauce.
